OUR TEAM IS
A family that has grown over time
We have met every summer for over 30 years. We have grown and shared multiple experiences. We love contact with nature. We respect and value the differences of each of the children who attend the summer camp.

Mary Seppi - CEO & Founder
32 years ago we created Las Mulas Summer Camp
Since that beginning, Mary returned to the United States three times to further her Education Degrees. Master degree program at Harvard confirmed her beliefs in the importance of the subtle work the Las Mulas team does with children during camp. In our morning staff meetings we address the campers’ participation, self control, responsibility, perseverance and inclusion during camp. The Harvard degree, in addition to her Bachelor’s in Recreation Administration from San Jose State University and a Bilingual Teaching Credential (BCLAD) from San Diego State University have given her an interesting career in education. Mary’s strong belief in the importance of unstructured play times and her dogged attention to safety (both physical and emotional) has helped make Las Mulas Summer Camp a life-changing experience for local and international residents of Chile for thirty-two years.
Elisa Sepúlveda
CEO & Founder
Elisa Sepúlveda - Founder
Elisa has many years of experience working with children in nature and has come to understand how to introduce the Andean world to children of all ages and physical and psychological abilities.
As head of camp counselors, Elisa ensures that our guides and monitors are properly trained so that they can safely lead, entertain and protect your children.
Her physical strength and high energy are essential for guiding adventures, yoga classes, swimming, games, and art classes. With good vibes and sensitivity towards children, Elisa creates an atmosphere of trust and affection within which deep connections are formed.
Outside of the Andean realm, Elisa received her degree with a Major in Landscape Architecture and a minor in Art from the University of California at Davis.
After working for 12 years in her own design and construction company, Elisa moved from the USA back to Chile when she married Augusto. They have formed a family and have two beautiful daughters who participate in every camp. Elisa also works at creating ecological conservation parks when she is not running Las Mulas Camp.
Elisa is a master yoga instructor with 20 years of experience and enjoys teaching children and adults this discipline.
Augusto Roncagliolo
CEO & Founder
Augusto Roncagliolo - Founder
Augusto is in excellent physical condition, which allows him to lead adventure excursions and act as a lifeguard on the river. When he is not doing that, Augusto documents the children’s games with his photographic talent to share with the parents so they can be informed about their children’s experiences from afar.
In his free time, he is a competitive tennis player. During the camp, in addition to being a paternal, calm, and a strong father figure, Augusto oversees all the camp logistics and is responsible for maintaining our infrastructure the rest of the year.

THOSE WHO LOVES LAS MULAS
Our Counselors
We have a great team of camp counselors. Some were campers in the past and their passion for Las Mulas motivated them to keep coming back in the summers to get experience working and earning a salary. Some counselors and teachers are hired from abroad, contributing their diverse experience and culture; teachers who have joined over the years, take on specific activities and also discover a passion for Las Mulas.
Sol
His favourite things about Las Mulas are the river, the forest, and the amazing people he has met year after year. Sol leads the Archery activity though he often makes excuses to help in Fort building.
His personality is characterized by his energy, friendliness and responsibility.
Montse
Montse’s first year was 2013. That year she was 13 and she thought she was older than many other campers, and that she would not enjoy it as much, but her experience exceeded her expectations. She liked the camp so much that she kept coming back every summer since then.
What she likes most about the camp is making new friends and being in contact with nature 24/7. She loves to go to the river and see how each member of the camp; Monitors and children enjoy it in their own way, creating a very entertaining collective atmosphere. Montse develops the arts & crafts activity, but sometimes she likes to accompany the other activities she loves.
She is highlighted by her sociable character and her love for the camp. She always tries to ensure that all children have an experience just as great as her’s was as a camper, through collaborating with them along with her love for art, the river, friendships and nature.
Tom
Tom has been working at Las Mulas since 2012. What he likes the most about the camp is the nature, the sky, the song of the birds, and the river.
We can see Tom singing, playing the guitar or laughing at his jokes. He is friendly, sociable and with a good sense of humor. Tom leads the Fort Building activity.

His happiness is infectious and kids flock around him. He is attentive in the river and treats this part of the job seriously. Maren is a fantastic chef and leads the cooking class, he also likes to teach the survival activity.
Gaby
The first time she came she was very nervous because she didn’t know anybody at camp, but later she realized that there was nothing to worry about, since the campers, the counselors and the environment made her feel very welcome.
She has always been very friendly and happy with the campers. She is responsible and loves all camp activities, but riding horses is her favorite.
Gaby is mature beyond her years and doesn’t hesitate if she sees a behavior that could be a danger to other campers. She is kind and generous with her time and maintains a reserve of energy for any situation, day or night in the bunkhouse.

Hannah
Her favorite things about the camp are the river, the mountains, the people and the possibility of disconnecting, since for her Las Mulas is like another world … A place where she can be herself and enjoy.
Hannah loves helping out with Fort building, adventure, cooking, and everything to do with the river. (In her early years as a camper, she was nicknamed the mermaid).
You can always see Hannah with a big smile, she is very sociable, she loves meeting new people, she likes adventures, helping and above all being who she is
Felipe
Nobody can play cards, chess, or backgammon with more dedication than Felipe. He is always willing to set up courts and gather kids for pick up dodgeball games, basketball, capture the flag and softball. Felipe’s favorite games are night games where he can hide in a tree and make funny animal sounds until an eager group of kids can find him.
Felipe is a kind and inclusive young man who is always willing to help entertain any camper that wants or needs some quiet time playing board games before dinner. He is responsible for organizing field games, as well as leading the filmmaking activity.
